Hello, I’m Sarah Houdmont, a fully qualified teacher with three decades of experience in primary education. I’ve had the pleasure of working with students from Reception through to Year 6, developing a well-rounded understanding of children’s learning journeys. In recent years I have focused on learning support, working with children with literacy and numeracy difficulties from Early Years to Key Stage 3.
To deepen my expertise, I completed a Postgraduate Level 7 Diploma in Dyslexia and Dyscalculia at the University of Chester. Through this, I qualified as a Specialist Teacher and Assessor. I hold Approved Teacher Status (ATS) and an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC). These accreditations mean I am fully qualified to carry out comprehensive diagnostic dyslexia and dyscalculia assessments and provide high-quality support for students up to 18 years of age.
Helping students overcome challenges and celebrate their strengths is the most rewarding aspect of my work.
My work is regulated by the SpLD Assessment Standards Committee (SASC). I hold an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate and public liability insurance.
